LeBron James has reached another milestone in a career spanning more than two decades, entering his 24th NBA season at 41.
James’ move to Philadelphia has already brought challenges. He missed a game against the Milwaukee Bucks while managing back concerns and later started at center against the Detroit Pistons as the 76ers dealt with frontcourt injuries.
With Joel Embiid managing plantar fasciitis, James has helped fill a temporary need while Philadelphia works to keep its roster healthy.
On the 23rd anniversary of his NBA career, James also marked an important off-court development. His long-standing approach to training, sleep, and recovery is now part of a formal partnership that links his career to a company he has used since 2015.
LeBron James Becomes WHOOP Global Ambassador After 11 Years
WHOOP announced on October 29 that James had become a global ambassador, formalizing a relationship that began 11 years ago.
According to Business Wire, James was among WHOOP’s first 100 members and also invests in the health-and-performance technology brand.
“I’ve spent my career doing everything possible to keep my body at peak performance. For the last 11 years, WHOOP has been part of that,” James said in the announcement.
“I know my body better today than I did at 25. I’m not trying to be great for my age. I’m trying to be great, period. That’s why making this partnership official feels like a natural next step.”
The partnership will include global marketing campaigns, multimedia content and initiatives focused on performance, recovery and long-term health.
WHOOP founder and CEO Will Ahmed also highlighted James’ long-standing connection to the product.
“LeBron James represents the pinnacle of performance and longevity,” Ahmed said.
He added that James was an early member before the company introduced features such as Strain and its Recovery Score.
WHOOP’s latest data places James among the top 10% of members for sleep efficiency.
The company also said he maintained a 100% device-wear rate throughout 2026.
These figures offer a glimpse into the habits behind his recovery approach, though they do not show that the tracker alone explains his longevity.
James also invested in WHOOP’s $575 million Series G funding round in March, which valued the company at $10.1 billion, according to the supplied business reporting.
LeBron James and Savannah James Share Family Details in Vogue Feature
Away from his performance partnership, James recently appeared with his wife, Savannah James, in Vogue’s Objects of Affection video series.
The couple opened their Los Angeles home and shared possessions connected to their careers, relationship, and three children.
James showed his four NBA championship trophies, his hyperbaric chamber, and a Jean-Michel Basquiat painting titled “Minor Success.”
Savannah highlighted a Cartier Crash watch she gave him for their anniversary and a bracelet featuring the heartbeats of their children, Bronny, Bryce and Zhuri.
The couple also discussed their everyday routines, including the kitchen’s “Dessert Row,” where Savannah joked about her husband’s love of sweets.
The feature offered a personal look at the family’s life outside basketball as James begins another season with Philadelphia.
James has said he does not expect to stay at center permanently, explaining that Philadelphia already has an MVP in Embiid.
The WHOOP announcement and the Vogue feature offer different views of James’ life at 41: one focuses on the routines he uses to prepare for competition, and the other on the family and personal milestones that remain central away from the game.
