Rosanne Breen is the wife of NBA announcer Mike Breen.
Rosanne has been by Mike’s side for decades, supporting him throughout his basketball career and in life.
Here is everything you need to know about Mike Breen’s wife, Rosanne Breen.
1. They Both Went to Fordham University
Mike Breen graduated from Fordham University in 1983. He did not meet Rosanne there; Rosanne was attending Villanova University getting her Bachelor’s degree in math back in 1983.
But, Rosanne did eventually attend the Fordham Gabelli School of Business to get her Master’s degree, in Information Systems. She finished school in Fordham in 1993.
Perhaps Breen had a little bit of influence in making his longtime partner a Fordham Ram.
2. They Have Been Married for Over 35 Years
Rosanne and Mike were married on September 16, 1989.
Mike was working as a sportscaster on the WFAN network in New York at the time.
3. They Have Three Kids Together
Mike and Rosanne have three children together: a daughter named Nicole and two sons named Michael and Matt.
Their daughter Nicole has followed in each of their footsteps in some way.
Nicole followed her mom’s path in college, attending Villanova University to get her bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies.
But her career path is more aligned with her father: Nicole has been working in basketball for over a decade.
According to her LinkedIn, she currently works at the NBA as a Senior Manager of Youth Basketball development.
4. Rosanne Is Also a Big Basketball Fan
Rosanne has been a very big supporter of Villanova basketball on her X account in the past, and Mike has discussed cheering for Villanova basketball at games alongside her and Nicole.
Mike also admitted once that Rosanne is a big fan of Walt “Clyde” Frazier’s voice on the broadcast – suggesting that she regularly tunes in to support Mike when he calls New York Knicks games.
5. Rosanne Once Saved Mike’s Very Valuable Jersey
Back in September of 2022, Mike and his family’s Long Island home was destroyed in a fire.
Thankfully no one was hurt, but the Breen family was still devastated to lose so many precious belongings.
But Rosanne was able to locate, and eventually restore, one of Mike’s most prized possessions. The Brooklyn Nets jersey was gifted to him by friends at ESPN, and it read “Gray Mamba” on the back, a playful nickname fans have given to Breen that parodies Kobe Bryant’s “Black Mamba” nickname and pokes fun at Breen’s iconic gray hairdo.
The jersey is signed by Kobe — who of course tragically passed away back on January 26, 2020 — with the note “from one Mamba to another.”
This was a one-of-a-kind keepsake that couldn’t be replaced, so the fact that Rosanne was able to save it meant a lot to Mike.
Mike and Rosanne hope for decades more of a strong relationship – and to see the New York Knicks eventually win the NBA Finals again.
