Browns fan Steve Harvey urges Shedeur Sanders to play.

Family Feud host and Cleveland Browns fan Steve Harvey believes the team needs to see what they have in Shedeur Sanders.

Harvey is a passionate Browns fan who isn’t afraid to speak his mind on the team. It hasn’t been a kind few years for Cleveland, and Harvey believes the team should turn to Sanders soon to give the fans some hope.

Harvey believes Sanders has the potential to be a franchise quarterback. But he expects Cleveland to eventually trade him and move on from him.

“I’ve watched us not win nothing since 1964. So, you are going to sit here and ask me about a damn quarterback. Joe Flacco is gonna play a few games and his old ass is gonna get hurt,” Harvey said on The Pivot Podcast. “You just can’t be 40 and run that fast away from all these people. So, Joe Flacco is going to get hurt…

“Now we gonna watch this Gabriel boy and panic his ass off because he is gonna get thrown in there with the wolves, because the real wolves come during the season… Now, I am praying to God that Shedeur gets an opportunity to show what he really can do. And I think that would probably be the best thing. But knowing the Cleveland Browns, their dumbass is gonna trade him,” Harvey added.

Harvey doesn’t expect Gabriel to be the answer, but he believes Cleveland will turn to him instead of Sanders.

Sanders has been inactive through two weeks, so it seems unlikely he will be starting games anytime soon, as Harvey wants.

Sanders Gets Good News as Potential Browns Starting QB

Although Sanders has been inactive through two weeks, he could get into games down the stretch.

Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot said on the ‘Orange and Brown Talk Podcast’ that it’s likely both Gabriel and Sanders will play and start games this season.

“I think the reason why we’re asking the question is because in a game like this, Joe turned the ball over twice. He had a horrible interception this game. But I do think the more that I think about this right now, they’re heading into a very grueling stretch,” Cabot said. “I just don’t think now is the time to do it. So I agree with the decision to stick with Joe Flacco for now. But it’s going to get to the point at some time this season where they’re going to say, ‘Alright, let’s see what these rookies can do.’”

Cleveland will need to see what they have with the rookie quarterbacks. Which is why she expects Sanders to play some games this season.

Sanders Wanted to be Picked by Cleveland

Entering the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders had hoped to be a first-round pick.

However, he slid to the fifth round when the Browns took him.

Yet, ahead of Cleveland’s Week 2 game against the Baltimore Ravens, it was revealed he turned down being picked by Baltimore. Sanders wanted a chance to start this season, but he wouldn’t comment on the report.

“My response is I’m focused on the now,” Sanders said. “I don’t really talk about anything in the past, and whatever happened in the past, it is what it is. I’m more focused on how this game went and figuring out how to move forward from here.

“You wouldn’t even believe, my memory doesn’t go back that far. I don’t even remember anything post-draft. I just remember I’m here, I go to practice every day, and it’s a 24-hour rule. … It serves no purpose in my life,” Sanders added.

Sanders ended up being picked 144th overall by Cleveland.
