Bleacher Report's Moe Moton didn't rank the Green Bay Packers with one of the best 13 NFL rosters after the first week of 2026 free agency.

The Green Bay Packers have had a solid all-around NFL offseason, although they did watch quite a few key players from the 2025 roster leave town in free agency.

Now that the 2026 NFL Draft has come and gone, fans have been curious to see whether or not general manager Brian Gutekunst and the front office would make any other moves. There are still some potential needs on the roster.

One of those potential needs could be more tight end depth.

As of right now, the Packers have Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave as their lead tight ends. Kraft, however, is coming off of a torn ACL. Bringing in another weapon at the position would be a wise decision if the right player is available.

Keeping that in mind, a Green Bay insider has weighed in on one name he could get behind the team signing.

Green Bay Packers Could Be Potential Fit for David Njoku

Matt Schneidman of The Athletic has published a new mailbag with fans who asked him quite a few questions. One question had to do specifically with former Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku being a possible target for the Packers.

He believes that Njoku would be a good target for Green Bay if the team is wanting to add another tight end.

“I could get behind an Njoku signing. He’s battled injuries the last couple of years, but has been productive and a legitimate touchdown threat when healthy,” Schneidman wrote.

“He turns 30 in July but might improve the weaponry behind Kraft (I ain’t seeing it from Luke Musgrave) and provide some insurance as Kraft returns from his injury.”

Let’s take a closer look at how Njoku could fit in with the Packers should the team have interest in signing him.

What Would David Njoku Bring to Green Bay’s Offense?

Standing in at 6-foot-4 and nearly 250 pounds, Njoku possesses great size for the tight end position. He also combines that size with elite athleticism for his position.

Last season with the Browns, Njoku was given a much smaller role than he had in years past. The presence of rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. took away snaps and targets from him.

In 12 games, he caught 33 passes for 293 yards and four touchdowns. Throughout his entire 118-game NFL career, has has racked up 384 catches for 4,062 yards and 34 touchdowns.

Despite his lower production in 2025, Njoku is a good tight end. He would add upside to the Packers’ offense and would be well worth signing to a one or two-year contract.

That being said, there have been no concrete reports linking Green Bay to having interest in Njoku.
