Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels does not have a confirmed girlfriend, but rumors continue to swirl about his relationship with USC basketball star JuJu Watkins. Daniels has a friendship with Watkins, but there is no indication that the two athletes are dating.
The Commanders quarterback’s Instagram page is absent of any love interest. Instead, Daniels’ social media presence is dedicated to football and endorsement deals.

Rumors started to heat up after Daniels and Watkins were spotted sitting together during a March Madness game in 2025. Watkins was ambushed with questions about Daniels during a recent impromptu airport interview with TMZ.
The basketball star smiled but declined to reveal much when asked about Daniels. It is quite possible the two are simply friends, and if the stars are dating, neither has gone public with their relationship.

During the NFL offseason, Daniels was spotted wearing a Nike shirt featuring Watkins’ face. More recently, Watkins returned the favor by attending the Commanders-Chargers game on October 5.
It was a short commute from USC given the game was at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Daniels and Watkins went viral for doing a handshake at the game.

Daniels’ mom Regina Jackson previously made headlines for her comments about being concerned about who her son dated. During a May 11, interview on “The Pivot Podcast,” Jackson attempted to clarify her stance on Daniels’ dating life.
“The whole girls comment was made first of all two years [ago], when he was at LSU,” Jackson explained, per New York Post. “It was a question [I was] asked, ‘What is your biggest fear?’
“That should be every parents’ biggest fear… men and women… because you’re a public figure and your dollar amount is associated with your name. So you never know who’s really there for you and who’s really against you,” Jackson added.
“… The thing is, he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know and he knows football and he does it very well… but he doesn’t know the business world. He doesn’t know the predators or the vultures that could be out there. So he feels very comfortable in knowing that not only am I educated and qualified to do it, I’m also his mom.”
Despite the Girlfriend Rumors, JuJu Watkins & Jayden Daniels Are Not Known To Be Publicly Dating
The TLDR (too long don’t read) version of all this is that, at least publicly, Daniels and Watkins are not known to be dating. For now, it seems the two athletes share a bond over being top players in their respective sports.
Yet, until either Watkins or Daniels come out and deny the rumors about their potential involvement, fans are going to be left guessing. Regardless, it is great to see two of sports biggest stars getting along.
