Gone is Haaland’s signature long blond hair. Instead, Haaland showed up to the match with a shaved head stunning fans.
It looks like Haaland’s girlfriend has joined the Manchester City star with a new look of her own. Johansen also revealed a new haircut, but the look is not quite as surprising as Haaland’s short hair.
The star’s girlfriend posted a photo revealing she is also going with a shorter hair style. Johansen announced a new shoulder-length haircut as Haaland revealed his shaved head to the world.
“A lil refresh for fall,” Johansen noted in an August 23, 2026, Instagram post showing photos of her new hairstyle.

Johansen was shocked to see Haaland’s new haircut but eventually came around to the short hair. Haaland’s girlfriend admitted that it is going to take some time to get used to the star without long hair.
“It looks good,” Johansen told Haaland. “… You look cute.”

Haaland’s girlfriend wrote a blog for Vogue Scandinavia about what a day at the World Cup looked like.
“(Once) the Viking Row started, there was no way I was staying in my seat,” Johansen wrote in the July 3, story. “From Oslo to Times Square, the row has been a special part of this tournament. I get goosebumps every single time we do this.
“… One last flight, straight to bed and then it’s time to do it all again. That’s the rhythm of a World Cup, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Haaland had been teasing the idea of having short hair in recent months. The Man City star revealed why he made the sudden pivot away from long hair.
“This beautiful blonde hair. Time to let it go,” Haaland explained to Diaro AS. “I was thinking about doing this straight after the World Cup, but we were so busy, so I didn’t do it.
“The season starts now, so it’s time to get a fresh start and everything. The only thing is, Zlatan told me, never cut your hair, because your strength is in your hair. I’m a bit nervous,” Haaland added.
“I want (a) buzz cut, like I’ve been in the military. That’s what I want.”
