The 2026 WNBA season is set to start in the middle of the NBA playoffs. Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will host the Dallas Wings on May 9 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Clark’s offseason involved a part-time career as an analyst for NBC Sports. She covered a couple of games as part of Basketball Night America. She worked alongside NBA legends like Reggie Miller, Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony and Tracy McGrady.

The Fever star even went viral due to her reaction to Miller comparing her game to Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard.

Despite being in the middle of training camp, many WNBA players like Caitlin Clark are still able to watch the NBA playoffs.

Speaking to Athlon Sports’ Kyle Wood, Clark was asked to give her NBA Finals prediction.

“For this year? Oh, boy. Well, you know, I thought the Spurs were gonna win it all,” Clark said. “That was my pick. That’s what I’ve been telling everybody, but I don’t know, I might be rethinking after the Timberwolves stole Game 1. Obviously, OKC would be the easy pick.”

She added, “I’m sure everybody’s saying that.
But I think whoever comes out of the West will win it all. So I’m hoping for a Spurs-OKC Western Conference finals. I don’t know who’s gonna come out of the East … maybe the Knicks.”

While Clark has the Spurs winning the NBA Finals, a Spurs-Knicks or Thunder-Knicks matchup for the championship would be a great series regardless.

Clark added that she was disappointed that the Boston Celtics lost since she was rooting for fellow Iowa product Luka Garza. The Celtics blew a 3-1 series lead to the Philadelphia 76ers and were ousted in the first round.

Last year, 50% of WNBA general managers thought that Caitlin Clark was the perfect player to start a franchise. But due to the rise of Paige Bueckers and Clark’s injury-filled second season, the GMs changed their mind in 2026.

In the latest WNBA GM survey, Bueckers topped Clark and reigning MVP A’ja Wilson as the ideal franchise cornerstone in the league. The Dallas Wings star received 33% of the total votes.

Clark and Wilson both got 20% each, while Dominique Malonga of the Seattle Storm came in fourth at 13%. Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, who have been among the best players in the WNBA for the past few years, also received votes.

In terms of the best point guard in the league, Clark still needs to show that she can stay healthy. She came in second behind Chelsea Gray, who garnered 73% of the votes, while Clark only received 20%.
