is one of
Fox's new shows for the 2016-2017 TV season. It's a sports drama, with Kylie Bunbury playing the first woman to ever pitch for a Major League Baseball team. The producers even lucked out on getting the OK from the MLB to have Bunbury's character play for a real team - the San Diego Padres. The show was even filmed a PetCo Park and announces Joe Buck and John Smoltz appear in the pilot.
In an interview with USA Today
, co-creator Rick Singer (Younger
) said they spent over two months trying to find an actress who could also pitch. They finally cast Bunbuy, who starred in Under the Dome
, even though baseball was the one sport she didn't play in high school. Still, she has pitched well enough to make the show work.
Audiences will get to decide if they like her pitching as well as the producers have on September 22
. The show airs on Thursdays after Rosewood
