RG3 Trade: Rams Send Out Acquired Players For Coin Toss

Irony is never in doubt when it comes to NFL head coaches. The St. Louis Rams traveled to Washington and defeated the Redskins 24-0 on Sunday — the shutout just added insult onto insult that was already added to injury — but the most memorable moment from the game came before the game even started when Rams head coach Jeff Fisher sent out the six players acquired via draft picks in 2012’s RGIII trade as the team’s honorary captains for the pre-game coin toss.

But why was the move ironic? Redskins head coach Jay Gruden benched RGIII two weeks ago before Washington’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. So, the player that the Redskins acquired from the Rams two years ago did not play in today’s game, but the players who were traded for him did.
