DraftKings NHL: Sign Up & Win Cash Playing Fantasy Hockey May 26-27

If you thought the NHL Playoffs couldn’t get more exciting, think again. Thanks to Heavy’s partners at DraftKings, you can win big cash by playing low buy-in fantasy hockey contests throughout the postseason. One of them gets underway Tuesday, May 26, at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Sign up for the NHL $4.5K Sharpshooter guaranteed contest here.

The $4.5K Wrist Shot, which guarantees a total of $4,500 to be paid out to nearly 350 entered teams, costs only $3 for current members to enter.

But if you’re new to DraftKings and just made your first account deposit, you will receive a $3 voucher which can be redeemed to play in the contest for free. The voucher expires a year from when it was issued.

The top prize is $350, second is $250 and third $200.

The $4.5K Wrist Shot gets started at 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, May 26, when the puck drops on the New York Rangers-Tampa Bay Lightning game, then continues with the Anaheim Ducks-Chicago Blackhawks contest on Wednesday evening. The contest is open to only 1,725 participants, and it’s filling fast, so join now.

As a first-time user with DraftKings, when you sign up and are prompted, use the promo code “HEAVY.”

The rules are simple: When you sign in for the contest, you will be given a fixed salary cap of $50,000 to draft your 9 player roster. The Player Pool will consist of all NHL players expected to be playing on a given game day. In this case, it’s Tuesday’s Rangers-Lightning game and Wednesday’s Ducks-Blackhawks contest.

Also for first-time players, when you sign up you get a 100 percent deposit bonus up to $600. You put in $600, DraftKings will match your $600.

Playing is easy and fun. You get a $50,000 salary cap to spend on 9 players – 3 wings (right or left), 2 centers, 2 defensemen, 1 goalie and 1 utility player (cannot be a goalie). The better your selected players do on the ice, the better your fantasy team does.

Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos has scored a goal in 4 straight games vs. the Rangers and is the most expensive position player at $9,100.

Rangers LW Rick Nash ($8,100) had one offensive outburst in Game 4 vs. the Lightning, but hasn’t recorded a point in any of the other 4 games.

Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist ($8,900) has clamped down the past 2 games (3 goals allowed) after allowing 12 total in the previous 2 contests.

Ducks defenseman Sami Vatanen appears to be a bargain at $4,700, as he’s averaging 4.25 fantasy points over the past 4 games.

Here is the DraftKings NHL scoring key:

Players will accumulate points as follows:

Goal = +3 PTS
Assist = +2 PTS
Shot on Goal = +0.5 PTS
Blocked Shot = +0.5 PTS
Short Handed Point Bonus (Goal/Assist) = +1 PTS
Shootout Goal = +0.2 PTS
Hat Trick Bonus = +1.5 PTS

Goalies only will accumulate points as follows:

Win = +3 PTS
Save = +0.2 PTS

Shutout Bonus = +2 PTS

Goalie Scoring Notes:

Goalies receive points for all stats they accrue, including goals and assists.
The Goalie Shutout Bonus is credited to goalies if they complete the entire game with 0 goals allowed in regulation + overtime. Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout. Goalie must complete the entire game to get credit for a shutout.
