PHOTOS: Meet Dez Bryant’s Adorable Baby Monkey

Dez Bryant won the internet Wednesday night when he posted this picture of his new baby pet monkey on Instagram. Dallas Bryant, the little monkey’s name, received over 41,000 likes within hours of Bryant posting the photo. The photo’s caption read “My new best friend…. Dallas Bryant world #throwupthex.”

The bigger question for Dallas Cowboys fans along with fantasy owners is whether Bryant will play on Sunday against the New York Giants. According to CBS Sports, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said there is a chance Bryant plays on Sunday. “If he’s comfortable to putting it down and driving off of his foot then we’re comfortable with him playing,” Jones told a local Dallas radio station.

Since Jones’ interview, reports have been less optimistic. Bryant did not practice on Wednesday. Here are some updates on Bryant’s status:

While Bryant did not practice, he did work on the side. According to the Dallas Morning News, Garrett spoke about Dez’s status: “He obviously is the one who will have the biggest say in it based on how he’s feeling with the work we give him, but we’ll observe him as well. We’ll observe him as coaches, we’ll observe him as medical people and just see where he is and make the best judgment for him and our team.”

Bryant injured his foot against the Giants in Week 1. Initial reports indicated a four to six weeks recovery time, but it was later suggested that eight weeks would be more accurate. Sunday would mark the sixth week since Bryant sustained the injury.

While Cowboys fans await official word on Bryant’s status, they can be entertained by some of the best reactions to Bryant’s new monkey:
