Michigan State freshman running back L.J. Scott’s second effort touchdown won the Big Ten championship for Michigan State. The Spartans were trailing 13-9 with seconds remaining before Scott punched it into the endzone. Michigan State is now likely headed to the College Football Playoff.
Michigan State had the ball near the goalline with about two minutes remaining in the game. Iowa opted to play defense rather than letting Iowa score so their offense could get the ball back.
Instead, the Hawkeyes received the ball with 23 seconds left and no timeouts.
