Florida and Alabama head to Atlanta to battle for the SEC championship. Florida is 10-2 while Alabama is 11-1.

The Gators are the only thing that stand in the way of the Crimson Tide making the College Football Playoff for the second straight season.

Both teams are coming off rivalry games with different results. Alabama pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat instate rival Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Florida was dominated at home against Florida State as the Gators offense was held scoreless.

The question heading into the SEC championship is whether Florida is able to have any semblance of offense against Alabama’s front seven.

Prediction

Florida’s defense will keep the Gators in the game early on, but Alabama will pull away in the second half. Florida’s inept offense will continue to haunt them and prevent the Gators from winning the SEC Championship. The matchup to watch is how Alabama running back Derrick Henry does against a very good Florida defense. Look for the Crimson Tide to continue to roll all the way into the College Football Playoff.

Heavy’s Pick: Alabama 24 Florida 13. Florida -17.5. Under on the point total.
