WWE Smackdown Spoilers & Results for January 14

WWE Smackdown Spoilers, WWE spoilers, WWE Smackdown

There are plenty of big-time matches on this week’s Smackdown. (Facebook)

Monday night’s Raw set up a handful of major storylines heading into Tuesday night’s taping of WWE Smackdown and that means there are plenty of spoilers before the weekly event airs on Thursday evening.

Check out the breakdown of everything that happened right here:

Dean Amrbose got things started and declared his hope for a Last Man Standing match against Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship at Royal Rumble. But, much like Monday night, the feud was interrupted and Sheamus once again jumped into the ring with Owens on his heels. There was fighting, there were throw-downs and then Neville joined the fray and made the save.

Eventually the group returned to the show and Ambrose joined forces with Neville to take on Owens and Sheamus. But, much like last week, the match ended in a double count-out. In other words, the feud lives on.

The Dudley Boyz came out firing, defeating Erick Rowan and Luke Harper in a Tables match. It didn’t end when the bell rang either as Braun Strowman put Bubba Ray and D-Von through tables. Of course.

The Social Outcasts, who have been pretty darn fun since their inception, defeated Zack Ryder, Goldust, Damien Sandow and Jack Swagger.

In the Divas match, Becky Lynch defeated Brie Bella via submission.

Then, in the biggest match of the night, Alberto Del Rio and Kalisto squared off for the second straight night with the United States Championship once again on the line. Less than 24 hours after his surprising win on raw, Kalisto was defeated by Del Rio, but only with the assistance of King Barrett.

That, of course, begs the question; what was the purpose of Kalisto winning on Monday night? Kalisto’s victory on Raw was a social media sensation. The internet loved it. Then, in one night, the WWE took all that away? It’s confusing.

If the WWE is trying to turn us away (even more) from Del Rio, it’s certainly working.

Smackdown airs at 8 p.m. ET Thursday on USA.
