Chelsea have a big week ahead of them, and it could start with putting a few old statistics behind them.
Guus Hiddink’s squad have not won a game at Stamford Bridge during their current unbeaten run, which now stands at eleven games. The first could come against Newcastle, who have taken more points off of Chelsea (13) in the past five years than any other team. The Magpies are just one point above relegation, and have had mixed results with their January signings.
Chelsea are already without Kurt Zouma for the rest of the season, and could be without Diego Costa for today’s match. Costa broke his nose during training this week and is questionable, though Hiddink told reporters he will play with a mask.
