Mexico looks to continue a strong end to 2015 to their first friendly of 2016.
El Tri won their final four appearances last year, including a 3-2 win over USMNT to send Mexico to the Confederations Cup. Strong overseas performances from Chicharito have Mexico excited about their chances in this year’s Copa America Centenario, but he and other European standouts did not travel for tonight’s match.
Juan Carlos Osorio will field only players from Liga MX for tonight’s Miami meeting with Senegal, but that should give the Colombian manager an opportunity to look at some of his younger talent. He won’t get a better chance, as Mexico won’t play again until a pair of World Cup Qualifiers in late March.
