It is not often horse racing fans get a preview of the Kentucky Derby a month in advance, but all eyes will be on Gulfstream Park as the two favorites square off in the Florida Derby. The race is being promoted as the battle of East versus West.

Mohaymen and Nyquist are the early favorites for the Kentucky Derby. Mohaymen will have the advantage of a short commute as he trains in Palm Meadows, Florida.

Nyquist is based in Santa Anita, California and will have to travel across the country for the race. The two horses enter the Florida Derby undefeated. Vegas has Mohaymen as the favorite.
