How do you follow up a two-OT victory that was also the second longest game in franchise history? Easy. You win your first playoff series since 1993.
That’s exactly what the New York Islanders are looking to do on Sunday night, just one game away from clinching the series against the Florida Panthers on home ice. The Islanders took a 3-2 lead when rookie forward Alan Quine scored a power-play goal 16 minutes into the second OT on Friday night.
Florida, meanwhile, is looking to keep the season alive as well, determined to snap its own postseason losing skid.
