WATCH: Jimmy Garoppolo Hurts Shoulder Against Dolphins

Jimmy Garoppolo took a hard hit in the second quarter and has been ruled out for the rest of the game against the Dolphins. He was tackled and the weight of the defender landed on his shoulder. Garoppolo headed back to the locker room after the injury. Jacoby Brissett entered the game at quarterback for the Patriots.

Garoppolo had a great start to the game. He was 18-of-27 for 234 passing yards and threw three touchdowns. The Patriots are already shorthanded at quarterback with Tom Brady serving a suspension for the first four games of the season.

Brissett is a rookie quarterback out of NC State and taking his first regular season snaps behind center. New England drafted Brissett in the third round.

The good news for Brissett was Garoppolo handed him a three touchdown lead before leaving the game.

Garoppolo was drafted in the second round out of Eastern Illinois in the 2014 NFL Draft.
