Dolphins vs. Jets Prediction

Before last Sunday, this looked like a game that would easily favor the Dolphins, as each of these teams have been moving in opposite directions for some time now.

But then Ryan Tannehill suffered a significant knee injury, and with Matt Moore under center for Adam Gase’s squad, this becomes significantly more difficult to forecast.

Moore, who has attempted 35 passes in the last five seasons, hasn’t made an NFL start since 2011. Still, he fared decently well that year, finishing with a 16:9 QB:INT ratio, and when it comes down to it, he just has to be average to give Miami an advantage at QB, as rookie Bryce Petty has been shaky at best during his time as a starter.

Ultimately, Miami has a strong running game, a good defense and an advantage on special teams. Although this one could get ugly with two backup QB’s and rainy conditions, the Dolphins should come out on top. They still have something to play for, while the Jets are positioning themselves for a draft pick.

Prediction: Dolphins 20, Jets 13
