Things got testy during the third quarter of the Warriors-Thunder game. It was the first game Durant played back in Oklahoma City in a Warriors uniform. Durant took exception to a hard foul by Roberson. He said something to Roberson which led to the two players getting into each other’s faces. Nothing came of the incident other than a couple shoves and a double-technical.
This came just a few minutes after another heated exchange between Durant and Russell Westbrook. Westbrook nailed a three and mouthed, “I’m coming for you” to Durant.
As expected, Durant was booed throughout the game with cupcake signs all over the arena. Former Thunder player Kendrick Perkins used to call players who he felt were playing soft “cupcakes”. The Thunder fans adopted the term as a way to troll Durant.
