Lane Kiffin will earn bonuses if the Ole Miss Rebels continue to advance in the College Football Playoff (CFP). Here's how much.

Lane Kiffin isn’t coaching the Ole Miss Rebels, of course, after parting ways with the team on November 30, 2025, to take on the head coach role at LSU. But, Kiffin will still get a nice payday if the Rebels take down the Miami Hurricanes on Thursday, January 8.

There are just two games left in the College Football Playoff (CFP), the Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl, before the final championship game takes place, so these three games mark your last chance to catch CFP football for the season.

The No. 6 Rebels are in the Fiesta Bowl, taking on the No. 10 Hurricanes in Glendale, Arizona. That game will air at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN. Whoever wins that game will advance to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday, Jan. 19, at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. That game will air at 7:30 p.m. and live on ESPN.

So, how much money will Kiffin make if the Ole Miss Rebels win the Fiesta Bowl and go all the way?

Lane Kiffin Will Get a Nice Payday If Ole Miss Rebels Go All the Way

Even being at LSU, Kiffin took home a large bonus after the Rebels’ underdog win over the Georgia Bulldogs on New Year’s Day, January 1.

The Ole Miss Rebels closed out a 39-34 win over the Georgia Bulldogs in the game, thanks to a game-winning field goal. During the matchup, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss put on a stellar performance, completing 30-of-44 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns, leading Ole Miss to the win.

Because of that win, Kiffin, who wasn’t allowed to coach with Ole Miss after taking the LSU gig, scored a $500,000 bonus, according to a report from Front Office Sports. That’s before the team even takes the field in the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday, January 8.

“As part of Kiffin’s exit to LSU, his new employer agreed to cover his full bonus structure from his contract with Ole Miss, according to details in an LSU term sheet Front Office Sports reported last month,” Front Office Sports said in the report.

Lake Kiffin Can Bag Even More

Then, if the Rebels beat the Hurricanes to advance to the national championship, according to research from Front Office Sports, he’ll make $750,000. Then, he’ll bag $1 million if the Rebels win the whole thing.

Kiffin already made $150,000 for the Rebels getting in the 12-team College Football Playoff bracket. Plus, his bonus increased to $250,000 when the Rebels beat Tulane in the first round of the playoffs.

Ole Miss interim head coach Pete Golding is doing well, too. He’ll also get the very same bonuses from the Rebels, for as far as they go in the CFP.

So, up next, Ole Miss will go up against Miami in the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday, January 8 in Arizona. That’s when Kiffin can increase his bonus to $750,000.

“After a lot of prayer and time spent with family, I have made the difficult decision to accept the head coaching position at LSU,” Kiffin said in a statement after officially taking the LSU position.

Now, Kiffin’s goal is to get LSU to that championship game during the 2026-27 season.
