Indian Premier League News: The Latest on Yash Dayal

Before the beginning of the 2026 IPL season, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru retained the services of Dayal. However, this transaction created significant backlash because of the current legal case against him.

In July 2025, The Hindu reports that Dayal has been accused of abuse towards a minor.

The outlet reported that the 27-year-old bowler is facing charges of sexual exploitation. A woman in Ghaziabad alleges that Dayal “abused her after promising to marry her during a five-year relationship.”

With the RCB’s camp well underway, The Times of India reports that the bowler is nowhere to be seen in the team’s social media posts.

In 2025, Dayal bowled in 15 matches, with his best figure being 2/18. Additionally, he recorded 13 wickets in 294 balls, with an Economy of 9.54.

Shreyas Iyer Gets Honest About Injury Recovery

One IPL club that is looking to build on its 2025 campaign is the Punjab Kings. Iyer will be looking to make his mark with the club following his recovery from a major injury.

In October 2025, Iyer sustained a spleen injury in a match against Australia. This resulted in him missing two months of playing action. However, he has recovered and is looking forward to playing the 2026 IPL season.

In a recent interview, Iyer revealed the full impact of what his body went through with the injury.

“It is always challenging to come back after an injury. I had lost around seven kilos, and it took a lot of effort to gain that weight back,” Iyer said. “Thankfully, I was back in good shape after two months. But gaining those 7 kg back took a lot of effort. But I love challenges. I am glad I overcame that part of my life, and I am back here proudly representing the team.”

Iyer played in 17 matches during last year’s IPL season. In those matches, Iyer recorded 604 runs, 43 fours, and 39 sixes in addition to knocking a 97-run highest score.
