The Boston Red Sox will be back on the field Friday to take on the San Francisco Giants. The Red Sox will be looking to bounce back after losing their series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday by a 7-6 final score.
Following their loss to the Diamondbacks, the Red Sox are making some changes to their lineup. This includes with infielder Caleb Durbin.
Caleb Durbin Batting Sixth for the Red Sox vs. Giants
Durbin will be in a new spot in the Red Sox’s batting order on Friday against the Giants. This is because he will be batting sixth for Boston. This comes after he batted fifth for Boston during their most recent game against Arizona.
Adley Rutschman will be taking over the fifth spot from Durbin against the Giants. This is after Rutschman was not in Boston’s lineup during their most recent game.
Here is the Red Sox’s full batting order for the series opener against the Giants.

Durbin Looking for Bounce-Back Game vs. the Giants
Durbin is entering this Giants series with the hope of putting together a bounce-back game. He struggled at the plate in Boston’s most recent game, as he went 0-for-5, which included one strikeout. With that, he will be looking to have more success at the plate against San Francisco in Boston’s series opener.
Despite coming off a cold game, Durbin has been a solid pickup for the Red Sox this season. In 120 games this campaign with Boston, he has set new career highs with 12 home runs, 16 stolen bases, and 62 RBI. He also has a .254 batting average and will be looking to improve it against the Giants from here.
