On Thursday, the Los Angeles Angels played their first game of the news season against the Astros in Houston.
The Angels won by a score 3-0.

Mike Trout finished the game with one home run, three walks and one stolen base.
He also made history with his performance.
Jack Janes of The Sporting Tribune wrote: “Mike Trout becomes the second player in MLB history to have 1+ home runs, 3+ walks and 1+ stolen bases in a single Opening Day, joining Turner Ward.”

Trout is coming off a season where he batted .232 with 26 home runs, 64 RBI’s, 73 runs and two stolen bases in 130 games.
Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com added: “Mike Trout is the first #Angels player to reach base safely four times on Opening Day since Darin Erstad in 2000.”

Trout is one of the best MLB players of all time.
He has spent his entire career playing for the Angels (16 seasons).
The 34-year-old is a three-time MVP and has made 11 All-Star Games.

Looking Ahead At Angels

The Angels are coming off another tough season where they were the last-place team in the American League West with a 72-90 record.
They last made the MLB playoffs during the 2014 season.

Following the Astros, the Angels will visit the Chicago Cubs on March 30.
They will then return home to host the Seattle Mariners on April 3.
