Carson Hocevar, driver of the No. 77 Chevrolet, and Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 7 Chevrolet, lead the field prior to the NASCAR Cup Series Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY at Texas Motor Speedway on May 3, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. The two drivers were involved in a heated on-track moment during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen.

Carson Hocevar’s frustrating day at Watkins Glen ended with a heated radio message aimed at teammate Daniel Suárez after contact between the two drivers cost Hocevar several positions during Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race.

Hocevar voiced his frustration over team radio moments after the incident unfolded on track.

“I’m never letting Daniel go again,” Hocevar said over the radio. “He can go [expletive] himself. He doesn’t have to run into me.”

The exchange quickly spread across NASCAR social media during the race as fans reacted to the blunt frustration from the 23-year-old driver.

Contact at Watkins Glen Sparks Heated Reaction

The incident came during an aggressive stretch of racing at Watkins Glen International, where drivers spent much of the afternoon battling through tight corners and heavy braking zones.

Hocevar appeared frustrated that the contact from Suárez cost him valuable track position during a critical point in the race.

By the end of the day, Hocevar crossed the line in 28th, while Suárez finished 13th.

Radio chatter and emotional reactions are common during NASCAR races, especially at road courses like Watkins Glen where passing opportunities can quickly turn into costly mistakes. Still, Hocevar’s comments immediately became one of the most talked-about moments from the afternoon.

Carson Hocevar Continues Drawing Headlines

Hocevar has become one of NASCAR’s biggest conversation starters this season both on and off the track.

Earlier this year, the young driver earned the first Cup Series victory of his career with a breakthrough win at Talladega Superspeedway, a moment that significantly elevated his profile inside the garage.

Since then, Hocevar has continued generating headlines with his aggressive driving style, candid personality, and willingness to speak openly in emotional moments.

Just last week, he also made an unexpected appearance at the 2026 Met Gala in New York City, creating buzz far beyond the racing world and becoming one of the more surprising names tied to the high-profile event.

Now, Watkins Glen has added another memorable moment to Hocevar’s rapidly growing spotlight.

Watkins Glen Delivers More NASCAR Drama

Watkins Glen has long been known for producing emotional moments thanks to its high-speed layout and intense braking zones, particularly through the iconic bus stop section of the course.

Sunday’s race once again delivered plenty of drama, including late-race cautions, aggressive restarts, and several heated moments throughout the field.

But Hocevar’s radio comments toward Suárez ultimately stood out as one of the most viral reactions from the race weekend.

Whether the frustration carries over beyond Watkins Glen remains to be seen, but the moment added another headline-grabbing chapter to Hocevar’s breakout 2026 NASCAR season.
