On Sunday evening, the Boston Celtics played the Minnesota Timberwolves at TD Garden.
The Celtics lost by a score of 102-92.
Max Shulga played two minutes, finishing with four points, one rebound and one assist while shooting 1/1 from the field.

After the game, the Celtics assigned Shulga (and Amari Williams) to the Maine Celtics (G League).
Both players continue to go back and forth between Maine and Boston.
Maine will play the Cleveland Charge (on Tuesday night).

Williams was the 46th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of Kentucky.
He is averaging 1.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 47.1% from the field in 19 NBA games.

In the G League, Williams is averaging 18.2 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.6 blocks while shooting 59.4% from the field in 17 regular season games.
Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston wrote (on January 27): “Opponents shooting 35.4% when Amari Williams is the closest defender. That’s 14.9% below expected, per NBA tracking.
Tiny sample and he’s still incredibly raw. But opponents are shooting 24% below expected inside 6 feet.
Blazers were 1-9 FG when Amari was closest defender.”

Shulga has appeared in six games for Boston (after being selected 57th in the 2025 NBA Draft).
He is having an excellent regular season in the G League with averages of 15.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 43.2% from the field and 39.2% from three-point range in 25 games.
Looking Ahead For Boston

The Celtics are the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 47-24 record in 71 games.
They have won six out of their last ten games (and are 24-11 in 35 games at home).
Following the Timberwolves, the Celtics will play their next game on Wednesday when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder in Boston.
Last season, they lost in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.
