The Chicago Bulls have officially parted ways with the veteran guard Mac McClung.
On Wednesday, August 5, there were talks about McClung potentially taking his talent overseas for the first time in his career.

On Thursday, August 6, the move is official. FIATC Girona announced that Mac McClung is the newest member of their team.
“Three-time NBA slam dunk champion Mac McClung has signed with Basket Girona in the Spanish ACB for his first foray into European basketball,” NBA Insider Marc Stein added. “Girona’s founder, owner and club president is former NBA All-Star Marc Gasol.”

The 27-year-old has been in the NBA since 2021.
After NCAA stints with Georgetown and Texas Tech, McClung went undrafted. He started his career with the Los Angeles Lakers‘ affiliate in the NBA G League.
McClung started his first stint with the Bulls in 2021-2022. He appeared in one game with the team. McClung would later play in one game with the Lakers as well.
In 2022-2023, McClung played for the Philadelphia 76ers‘ affiliate in Delaware. He appeared in two games with the Sixers after getting a two-way deal later on in the year.

McClung spent the 2024-2025 NBA season with the Orlando Magic organization. Then in 2025-2026, he played with the Indiana Pacers early on, before playing out the rest of his season with the Chicago Bulls for a second stint.
McClung appeared in eight games last year, seeing the court for 12.6 minutes per game. He shot 39.0% from the field and averaged 6.0 points per game.
He struggled to carve out a role beyond the G League, but McClung’s resume remains impressive. Beyond the three Slam Dunk Contest wins, McClung is a two-time NBA G League MVP, three-time All-NBA G League First Team member, and won the NBA G League Finals once in 2023.
