WNBA star Caitlin Clark and LA Lakers’ superstar LeBron James have built a strong bond over keeping their bodies in shape over the past year.  Ahead of the WNBA season and in the midst of the NBA playoffs, Clark revealed a telling story about James and how he supported her throughout her return to the WNBA court.

According to Clark, James kept in touch with her throughout her recovery from a mysterious groin injury and bone bruise from last year, helping her throughout the process.

“I think LeBron has been there to support me more than anything…when I was hurt last year he reached out and was like so there anything I can do to help you,” she said during Clark’s exclusive interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews.

Clark also revealed that her friendship with James has grown so much that they have arranged a future game of golf together.

“We text about golf,” she said. “That’s next on our bucket list to play golf together.”

James has expressed support for Clark since she entered the WNBA in 2024. In 2025, he even posted their interaction ahead of the season. After a tremendous rookie season in 2024, Clark only played 13 games last year as she struggled with numerous lower-body injuries.

However, the Fever remained competitive, even reaching the WNBA semifinals, where they pushed the eventual champions, the Las Vegas Aces, to five games.

Clark is expected to enter the 2026 WNBA season as healthy as ever, bringing in what he learned about recovery from James, who missed the first month of the 2025-2026 NBA regular season due to an injury.

James is currently in the middle of a heated playoff series against the OKC Thunder. The Lakers are down 0-2 after dropping Game 2 against the Thunder in Oklahoma City.

LeBron James, who reportedly spends a million dollars to care for his body every offseason, has once again been carrying the load for the Lakers in their current playoff run.

James took the cudgels from the injured Luka Doncic, who has yet to play a playoff game as he still nurses a groin injury. Initial prognosis has Doncic recovering for at least eight weeks.

Without Doncic, James has averaged 23.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game in the playoffs so far. James led the Lakers to a six-game series win against the Houston Rockets in the first round, but has yet to win a game against the Thunder in Round 2.

In Game 2 against the Thunder, James put up 23 points, which followed his 27-point performance in the series opener, albeit in a loss.

The Thunder has been undefeated in six games so far in the playoffs. They swept the first round, pummeling the Phoenix Suns

Now up 2-0, the Thunder could replicate their dominance in the second round, potentially handing James his fourth sweep defeat in the NBA playoffs.

Game 3 will be on Saturday, May 9, in Los Angeles.
