Milwaukee Bucks superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the most talked about storyline ahead of the NBA trade deadline on Thursday afternoon.
Antetokounmpo has been headed towards parting ways with the Bucks over the last couple of years. Now, the rumors have hit an all-time high. There is a chance that he could be dealt before tomorrow’s deadline.
While the Bucks could choose to move on from him before the deadline, there is also a chance that they could keep him until the offseason. No one knows what to expect, but a decision will need to be made in the near future.
With that being said, a new report has been made that suggests a final decision could come from Milwaukee within the next eight hours or so.
Milwaukee Bucks Will Need To Make Giannis Antetokounmpo Decision Within Hours
Outside of the fact that the trade deadline is less than 24 hours away, the Bucks will need to decide what they’re going to do before finalizing a deal. Trading a superstar like Antetokounmpo is a very complicated process.
ESPN’s Bobby Marks spoke out about the situation and revealed that he thinks the framework of a deal would need to be in place by midnight.
“We’re going to know if there’s a Giannis deal in the next 8 hours,” Marks said. “There’s a lot of moving parts here and I think there’s gonna have to be a framework of a Giannis type trade by midnight tonight.”
It will be interesting to see what Milwaukee decides to do with Antetokounmpo within the next 24 hours. Moving on from a longtime franchise superstar is a difficult decision to make. The Bucks don’t want to move him, but the situation has gotten to that point.
Expect to hear plenty of rumors over the next eight hours about the superstar forward. He’s one of the best players in the NBA and there are quite a few teams who would love to add him.
Who Are the Front-Runners to Trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo?
At this point in time, there are three teams who seem to be leading the way for an Antetokounmpo trade. Those three teams are the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
Currently, the belief is that Milwaukee prefers both the Timberwolves and Heat offers more than what the Warriors can afford to trade.
All of that could change very quickly. There are also other teams around the NBA who could come through with a great offer should they choose to do so.
Antetokounmpo has played in 30 games so far this season. He has averaged 28 points per game to go along with 10 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 0.9 steals, while shooting 64.5 percent from the floor. Those numbers would take all three front-running teams to being an elite NBA Finals contender if they acquired him.
These rumors are going nowhere until either Antetokounmpo is traded or the deadline has come and gone. Fans should buckle up for what should be a wild trade deadline day.
