The Atlanta Falcons are being pushed to strike a blockbuster trade in the latest rumors involving Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill.

For the first time in years, there’s a palpable buzz surrounding the whole Falcons offense. Following a disappointing year from Kirk Cousins, there’s plenty of excitement surrounding Michael Penix Jr.‘s first shot as a full-time starter.

Despite plenty of talent at the skill positions, the Falcons continue to come up in trade talks. While most of the proposed trades involve Cousins, none of them have landed them a player like Tyreek Hill.

But, with Michael Penix Jr. firmly positioned to take over as their next franchise quarterback, could Atlanta make a run at the disgruntled Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver?

Will Tyreek Hill Have the Patience to Stick Around for Another Losing Season in Miami?

Back in January, it appeared as if Tyreek Hill had played his last game in a Miami Dolphins uniform. Following their loss to the New York Jets in last year’s season finale, Hill signaled that he’d be open to playing for a new team in 2025.

“This is my first time I haven’t been in the playoffs,” Hill told reporters. “I just gotta do what’s best for me and my family. If that’s here or wherever the case may be, I’m finna open that door for myself. I’m opening the door. I’m out, bro.”

While the Falcons were focused on Michael Penix Jr.’s first game against a division rival, Hill exited Miami’s season finale in the fourth quarter without a new injury designation. Later that night, he took to social media to post what appeared to be a farewell message to Dolphins fans.

Tyreek Hill is still a Dolphin for the time being. But, as Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton pointed out this morning, Hill’s already-thin patience may run out if the Dolphins get off to another slow start.

“The 31-year-old won’t have patience for another down year with no guaranteed money on the final term of his current deal,” Moton wrote.

Moton believes that if the Dolphins leave their early-season stretch of division games with a losing record, “emotions could boil over and result in a blockbuster trade that sends Hill to the Falcons.

The Falcons Should Take Advantage of Their Window to Compete With a Potential Franchise Quarterback

In Moton’s hypothetical scenario, the Falcons would send sixth-year receiver Darnell Mooney and their 2026 third-round pick to the Dolphins for Hill. While part of this trade hinged on Mooney’s health, ESPN’s Marc Raimondi reported that he was back at practice this morning.

With weapons like Drake London and Bijan Robinson, Moton urged the Falcons to take a more proactive approach in building their offensive arsenal.

The Falcons should be proactive in an approach to match their offensive firepower with that of the division-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers,” Moton wrote. With Michael Penix Jr. on his rookie deal, Atlanta should consider acquiring Hill, who can aid in the development of its young quarterback.

While Falcons fans would love to see Mooney expand his role and become a consistent 1,000-yard receiver in Atlanta, it would be hard to pass up a talent like Tyreek Hill. That’s especially true if Michael Penix Jr. turns out to be a true franchise quarterback.

With a lineup of Bijan Robinson, Tyreek Hill, Drake London and Kyle Pitts at their skill positions, the Falcons would be a scary sight for any defense in their division.
