The Los Angeles Rams gave the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles their toughest battle in the playoffs last year, but that’s not what they are looking to achieve when they return to action in 2025. After loading up this offseason, the Rams have dreams of making their way back to the Super Bowl, and according to Kobie Turner, that involves taking the Eagles down along the way.
Los Angeles won Super Bowl LVI just a few years ago against the Cincinnati Bengals, but they have just one playoff win to show for in the three seasons since that victory. That’s something Turner wants to change, and in order to do that, they will need to beat the best of the best, which is currently Philadelphia.
Kobie Turner, Rams Set Sights on Eagles Rematch
A third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Turner has quickly turned himself into one of the top pass rushers in the league. After racking up nine sacks as a rookie in 2023, helping him earn a third-place finish in the Defensive Rookie of the Year race, Turner turned in a more complete season in 2024, racking up eight sacks, 62 tackles, four passes batted, and one forced fumble.
Of course, Turner and Los Angeles ended up bowing out of the playoffs when they suffered a hard-fought 28-22 defeat against Philadelphia. While that ended up being the most difficult victory for the Eagles to grind out in their run to the championship, that’s not a consolation prize that Turner is willing to accept.
While every game is important, Turner has the Rams Week 3 matchup with the Eagles circled on his calendar, as it will be a measuring-stick game for L.A. right out of the gate. You can bet that Turner and company haven’t forgotten that Philly ended their playoff run last year, and they will be looking for some revenge when they square off in this early-season contest.
“I’ve had that loss in the back of my mind for a while,” Turner said on “The Insiders.” “Obviously, it’s on to a new season and on to continue to progress, but I definitely have — I believe it’s Week 3 — circled. I mean, even in the individual training right now, we’re breaking down, ‘OK, this is how some of the guys, some of the offensive linemen for the Eagles, this is how they block, and this is how we’re going to defeat that.'”
Kobie Turner Has High Hopes for 2025 Season with Rams

It’s been a few years since the Rams won their most recent championship, but they still have several key pieces from that title team in place, and the franchise knows what it takes to get back to the top of the mountain. It’s not going to be easy, but Los Angeles looks like a threat to win the NFC West for the second straight season.
If guys like Turner can continue to take steps forward in 2025, that will only make L.A. a more difficult team to take down. Overcoming a high-powered Eagles squad is going to be easier said than done, but in order for the Rams to get to where they want to go this upcoming season, it’s clear that they believe they will need to pick up a victory in their Week 3 contest.
