Brie Bella has just given birth to a baby girl.
Birdie Joe Danielson, Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella’s first child together, was born on Tuesday, as announced on WWE.com.
“There is no better feeling in the world than meeting your daughter,” Brie Bella told WWE.com. “I can’t even express the overwhelming joy and love that Bryan and I are feeling. Now we know what parents mean about the love you feel when you first meet your child. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers on the safety of Birdie coming into this world.”
Here’s what you need to know about Birdie Joe Danielson, Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella’s daughter.
1. She Gets Her Middle Name From Brie Bella’s Grandfather
So how did Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella arrive at the name Birdie Joe Danielson?
Well, Bella revealed in an interview with E! News that the middle name “Joe” is a tribute to Brie Bella’s grandfather; Bella told E! that her grandfather “meant the world to me.”
In terms of how they arrived at the name Birdie, Brie explained that they wanted a “B” name, and “Birdie” was their favorite female name starting with the letter “B.”
“Birdie is because my husband and his whole family are ‘B’s,” she said. “And he married me, a ‘B’ too, so his one request was that our kids have ‘B’ names. I didn’t realize how hard it was to find girl ‘B’ names, but we both came across Birdie and knew that was it!”
Bella told E! that the other potential names were Branch, Brayden, Brynn and Bridget; she added that Daniel Bryan loved the name “Branch.”
2. She Arrived Over a Week Late
Birdie Joe Danielson arrived over a week later than expected.
Daniel Bryan revealed on Twitter last week that Brie Bella’s due date was April 30th, 2017.
Ultimately, though, she was born on Tuesday, May 9th.
All throughout the week, Brie Bella made posts on social media checking off another day that Birdie was late.
Leading up to the big day, Brie Bella told E! News that she was planning on a natural birth.
“I hope I can stick with that, but obviously I’m open to medical help if need be,” she said. “You don’t know what can happen. The baby could come early, or you could need an emergency C-section. So much of that scares me! But I know I can stand pain because of my career.”
3. The Birth Was Documented for ‘Total Bellas’
Brie Bella’s entire pregnancy process, including the birth itself, is being documented.
Bella told E! News a few months ago that she would be allowing cameras into the hospital room when she gives birth so that she can be filmed for Total Bellas. However, she did say that after the birth, she and Daniel Bryan will want to have a few weeks to themselves that are not filmed.
“I just want my husband and me to be a couple figuring out that first month privately,” she said. “We plan to enjoy every moment without a producer saying, ‘Hey, can we move everything over here?’ I just want to sit on the couch and breastfeed my baby.”
Total Bellas Season 2 will be quite eventful, as that season will also document John Cena’s proposal to Nikki Bella at WrestleMania. We don’t yet have a premiere date for that show, but Season 1 wrapped up in November. The hiatus leading up to the most recent season of Total Divas was seven months, and so it would be reasonable to expect Total Bellas Season 2 to be released in June.
4. Brie Says That Daniel Bryan Will Be the Perfect Father
Throughout the pregnancy process, Brie Bella has said that Daniel Bryan has been incredibly supportive and that he will be an amazing father.
“The qualities Bryan has are so important to me, and it makes our marriage so easy, so fun…he’s not only my best friend, but you know, he’s my husband,” she said in a video blog.” He’s just all these things. He’s amazing.”
Bella went on to say that when she first got pregnant, Daniel Bryan was hoping it would be a boy, partially because his dad really wanted a grandson.
However, Bella says that when they found out the baby would be a girl, Bryan was surprised but still incredibly happy. She also says that she believes Bryan was meant to be a father to a baby girl.
Bella said in a video blog, “I was like, ‘Bryan, you are so patient, you are so sweet, you have the most gentle soul, you’re so understanding, and you know how to really motivate and pump up women…you just know how to relate to us. You were meant to have girls.'”
5. Brie & Daniel Plan to Have Another Child
Brie Bella has said that she and Daniel Bryan plan to have two kids, and so there will be one more on the way after Birdie Joe Danielson.
Bella recently said in a video blog that she told Bryan not to be disappointed if their next child is a girl too, because she believes he will be a great father to girls even though he originally wanted a son.
Brie Bella is semi-retired, leaving the ring so that she could have kids with Daniel Bryan. However, she has said that she would like to make a return after having her first child.
“I’m giving birth in April so I’d love to make a comeback at SummerSlam if the boss lets me, we’ll see – fingers crossed,” she told Digital Spy. “If I can get in good enough shape that quick…I’d love to do it that quick.”
SummerSlam airs on August 20th, 2017.
