Tonight on VH1 at 9pm ET/PT, the ladies of Basketball Wives: LA gather for a dramatic reunion. According to the synopsis for tonight’s episode, things come to a head when Cristen is confronted about her miscarriage.
Back in May, Aja Metoyer made a bold statement, saying that her sister was lying about a miscarriage and really had an abortion. “That’s what we call it? Losing babies? Okay, aborting a baby. She’s so manipulative, it makes me sick.”
Aja and Cristen managed to fly relatively under the radar (other than knowing Aja is Dwayne Wade’s baby mama) until the dreaded makeover earlier this season. A couple weeks ago, Evelyn gave Cristen a makeover to help make her feel good about herself– all was going well until Aja stormed in, alleging that Cristen never had a miscarriage, and really had an abortion. In a later episode, Aja spoke about Cristen with her friend Saniy’yah, saying, “Yes, Cristen is my sister but my mom and Cristen’s mom legit hate each other. You think we’re gonna like each other?”
Cristen immediately denied her sister’s claims. Bossip reports her as saying, “I went to the doctor and it didn’t have a heartbeat. Who’s gonna lie about some s*** like that? That’s f*** up. For her to sit up there and lie about me having an abortion, that’s an all-time low for her.”
The whole thing was made messier, and even more confusing, when Aja reneged the comment, and said the statement was a “blooper”. In late May, VH1 reports Aja as saying that her #1 regret on the show was saying Cristen had an abortion. The outlet quotes Aja as admitting:
This is the number one thing, there’s gonna be a couple of things that I regret on the show. Cristen was trying to use the miscarriage for false sympathy because she wanted to relate with Evelyn. She was in the midst of trying to turn people against each other because she was afraid for her spot because they put San’niyah on—because San’niyah’s gonna be the bomb. That’s just the type of person she is, she’s a big personality. She [Cristen] tried to say I was picking on her for being overweight and that’s when I was like, ’She ain’t have no miscarriage!’ I feel like a horrible person but it just happened. It was just like a blooper.
The issue will certainly be brought up in tonight’s reunion, and there’s no saying how the conversation will go. Will it end in anger, tears, or a make up? Find out tonight on VH1 at 9pm ET/PT.
