Benjamin Bowden: Everything you need to know

Bowden (lat) struck out a batter and allowed one earned run on three hits over an inning of relief Monday in Triple-A Las Vegas' 13-8 loss to Oklahoma City. After closing out the 2025 season on the Athletics' injured list while recovering from a left lat strain, Bowden re-signed with the franchise on a minor-league deal over the winter but didn't end up appearing in any games during the Cactus League. However, the veteran southpaw was evidently healthy enough to avoid a stint on Las Vegas' injured list to begin the season. He should serve as a key reliever for the Triple-A club while he awaits a potential call-up to the big-league bullpen.

The Athletics reassigned Bowden (lat) to minor-league camp Monday. Bowden had been attending Athletics camp as a non-roster invitee, but a left lat strain has kept him from pitching thus far in Cactus League play, effectively ending any chance he had of winning a spot in the Opening Day bullpen. The southpaw made 11 appearances for the big club in 2025, logging a 4.22 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 7:5 K:BB In 10.2 innings.

The Athletics re-signed Bowden (lat) to a minor-league contract Nov. 11. Bowden elected free agency after being removed from the Athletics' 40-man roster earlier this month, but he was quickly re-signed to a new deal. The southpaw posted a 4.22 ERA and 7:5 K:BB over 10.2 frames with the big club in 2025 before straining his left lat in August. Bowden should be healthy for spring training but will likely begin the 2026 season at Triple-A Las Vegas.
