Kremer (quadriceps) threw a live bullpen session earlier in the week, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Orioles manager Craig Albernaz noted Friday that Kremer has been progressing well in his recovery from a right quadriceps strain that landed the right-hander on the 15-day injured list in late April. He was transferred to the 60-day IL last Friday, and depending on when he embarks on a rehab assignment, Kremer could be back with the big club in mid-to-late June. Prior to his injury, Kremer had a 4.09 ERA and 0.91 WHIP across 11 innings.
The Orioles transferred Kremer (quadriceps) to the 60-day injured list Friday, MLB.com reports. Kremer, who is on the shelf with a right quadriceps strain, now won't be eligible to rejoin the Orioles until late June at the earliest. Brandon Young should see several more turns through the rotation, holding a respectable 3.35 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 33:17 K:BB over 43 innings (eight starts).
Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said Monday that Kremer (quadriceps) has begun a throwing program, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports. While Albernaz noted that Kremer's strained right quad hasn't fully healed, the right-hander is "trending in the right direction" and has made enough progress in his recovery to at least start playing catch again. Kremer will gradually stretch out his throwing distance off flat ground before graduating to pitching off a mound. A clearer target date for Kremer's return from the 15-day injured list won't be established until he reaches the point in his rehab that he's facing live hitters in simulated games or minor-league starts.
