The Athletics transferred Clarke (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday. Initially placed on the IL on April 22 due to a deep bone bruise in his right foot, Clarke suffered a high-grade left hamstring strain last week during his rehab assignment and isn't scheduled to be re-evaluated until after the All-Star break. With that in mind, Clarke's move to the 60-day IL won't affect his timeline for a return and is merely a procedural transaction. The Athletics replaced Clarke on the 40-man roster with left-hander Gage Jump, who was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to make his MLB debut Tuesday against the Mariners.

Denzel Clarke: Breaking News
Receiving PRP injection
Clarke (hamstring) will receive a platelet-rich plasma injection Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. Clarke went on the 10-day injured list in late April with a foot injury but suffered a high-grade left hamstring strain last week while on a rehab assignment. He will remain shut down from activities following the PRP injection and is expected to be sidelined until well after the All-Star break.
Out through All-Star break
The Athletics returned Clarke (foot) from his rehab assignment Thursday after he suffered a left hamstring strain while playing in a rehab game at Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday. An MRI confirmed Thursday that Clarke suffered a high-grade strain, so the team will shut him down from all activity and re-evaluate him after the All-Star break. An updated timeline for his recovery will become available once the second half of the season begins, but the 26-year-old outfielder will presumably need an extended amount of time to build back up once he's cleared to resume activity, likely pushing his return date back into late August or early September. Henry Bolte should continue to receive the bulk of starts in center field as long as Clarke is on the shelf.
