Edmund Burdick: Everything you need to know

The Reds released Burdick on Dec. 19. Burdick likely has something lined up overseas, although that has not been confirmed. The 27-year-old outfielder has slashed just .200/.281/.368 across 139 plate appearances covering parts of two seasons at the big-league level.

The Reds outrighted Burdick to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. While no longer on the 40-man roster, Burdick will remain in the organization after clearing waivers. He will provide the Reds with some outfield depth at Louisville.

The Reds designated Burdick for assignment Friday. Burdick was claimed off waivers by Cincinnati on April 24 but was never called up to the big-league roster. He slashed .180/.279/.327 across 172 plate appearances with Triple-A Louisville and will likely remain in the Reds' organization if he clears waivers. Austin Wynns will take Burdick's spot on the 40-man roster.
