In the first match-up this season between NFC West divisional rivals, the San Francisco 49ers (7-4) host the Seattle Seahawks (7-4), the first game these two teams have played against each other since the Seahawks defeated the 49ers 23-17 in the NFC Championship Game last January.
Both teams are coming off of wins last week; the Seahawks defeated the Cardinals 19-3 at home and the 49ers defeated the Redskins 17-13 at home, extending their winning streak to three games.
The NFC playoff picture is a muddled, albeit interestingly good mess. The Cardinals (9-2) and Packers (8-3) are the top two seeds. The Eagles-Cowboys Thanksgiving afternoon game that precedes this one will break the first-place tie atop the NFC East, bumping the winner down to 8-4. The Lions, Seahawks and 49ers are all 7-4, and the winner of this game will take a huge step in attempting to distance themselves from the other two – especially Seattle given that they have defeated the Cardinals already this season, something both the 49ers and Lions have failed to do.
Both teams enter 2-2 in the regular season against each other (both being 2-0 at home).
The game will take place Thanksgiving night at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The broadcast will feature Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth in the booth and Michele Tafoya on the sideline and be nationally televised in prime-time. Here’s how to watch online and on mobile:
