Heavy’s Pick

This is Louisiana-Lafayette’s 4th bowl game in program history. The Ragin’ Cajuns are 3-0, with all the wins coming in this New Orleans Bowl. Cajun fans will pack the Superdome as Lafayette is just a 2 hour drive away, virtually making it a home game.

Quarterback Cody Fajardo, who has succeeded Colin Kaepernick rather seamlessly under center for Nevada, will give La.-Lafayette problems. But the Wolf Pack’s defense will have trouble stopping Elijah McGuire and Cajuns’ running attack, which ranks in the nation’s top 25 at 229.4 yards per game.

Not to mention, the 11 a.m. Eastern kickoff time will feel like 8 a.m. for the Nevada players. But let’s face it, getting much of anything accomplished before noon on a Saturday in the Big Easy ain’t easy. Nevertheless, U-La-La makes it 4 straight in N’awlins.
