The New York Giants are still trying to find some – any – offensive rhythm. Sure, the Giants nabbed their first preseason victory of the year with a 22-12 showing against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, but the first string offense still left a good amount to be desired. Eli Manning was 4-for-14 for 46 yards and Odell Beckham Jr. still hasn’t caught a pass despite five targets in week two alone.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the NY football world, the New York Jets are still trying to find their identity. Gang Green and first-year coach Todd Bowles have been through the metaphorical wringer this offseason with a quarterback situation that sounds more soap opera than NFL.
The Jets brought in veteran backup Matt Flynn last week and while the journeyman didn’t take a snap in week two, he’ll likely see time on Saturday night, offering the team a bit of much-needed experience.
