Meet Auburn Quarterback Sean White

Despite receiving a lot of hype over the offseason, Jeremy Johnson has struggled for Auburn at quarterback. Coach Gus Malzahn decided to move in a different direction and named Sean White the new starting quarterback.

While much has been made about Jeremy Johnson, the college football world knows very little about White. He recently received stellar reviews from ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer. Dilfer had this to say to AL.com:

We watch where these kids go, especially the really, really good ones. We call them program changers and we felt Sean was a program changer. We felt he was a guy who could change their program and allow them to have a sophisticated passing game, not just a play-action passing game.”

Dilfer admitted to being “shocked” when Johnson was named the starting quarterback in the offseason. According to Yahoo Sports, White is a 6’2″ four-star quarterback from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He also received offers from Cincinnati, Houston and West Virginia but ultimately chose Auburn.

White participated in the Elite 11 camp in 2013. The camp features the best high school quarterbacks in country. He was named MVP of the event ahead of players like Clemson’s DeShaun Watson and Texas A&M’s Kyle Allen.
