We knew it would be special. It was. Vive Le France. As France and England prepared to play each other in an international friendly at Wembley, the atmosphere was like no other friendly. Just days after the massacres in Paris which result in the deaths of over 120 people, France’s soccer players were forced back into action.

The entirety of Wembley stadium was illuminated in the colors of the French flag. The support for Paris and France came to a head with the passionate singing of the French national anthem prior to kick off. This rousing rendition is reminiscent of the famous singing of La Marseillaise from Casablanca:
The unimportance of sports is further highlighted in the wake of the attack of explosives were reportedly found in Hanover, just prior to the Germany v Netherlands soccer international.
