A wild week 11 ended even wilder, as Texans third-string quarterback T.J. Yates led Houston over the previously undefeated Bengals. Yates threw the game-winning score to DeAndre Hopkins, who did the majority of the work for the game’s only touchdown. Brian Hoyer left the game with concussion symptoms, so it’s still unknown if he or Yates will start Sunday against the Jets.

Hoyer’s advancement through concussion protocol is sure have an effect on the spread this week.

After the win, Houston is tied for the division lead with the Colts at 4-5. Houston has a tough road ahead, but can still make a late run when they play their entire division for the season’s final three weeks.

The Texans will play on short rest, while the Jets head to Houston with an extra three days’ rest. New York hurt themselves in their loss to Buffalo on last Thursday, committing four turnovers. New York also sits at 5-4, making Thursday’s matchup an important one in the AFC Wild Card race.

With a tough interior and a strong running game, the Jets are a narrow opening favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The biggest matchup will be Jets corner Darrelle Revis against Texans wideout DeAndre Hopkins, who leads the NFL in targets.
