Two teams that finished Champions League group play with opposite goal differentials will now meet in the Knockout Stage. Real Madrid tied with Bayern with a +16 difference for the round, while Roma conceded 16 total goals in the group stage, more than any other advancing team in history. Roma were even beaten 6-1 by Barcelona, but the side have turned their form around since the departure of manager Rudi Garcia.

Luciano Spalletti is back in charge at Roma, where he previously managed from 2005-2009. Roma have won four straight in Serie A under Spalletti, and should get veterans Francesco Totti and Daniele de Rossi back in the lineup for today’s match.

Gareth Bale is still out for Madrid, but Cristiano Ronaldo has been handling the scoring for his club. CR7 leads all scorers with 11 goals in Champions League this season, and his 88 Champions League goals are the most by anyone in history.

Today’s match will be available on Fox Sports One in the US at 2:45 p.m. Eastern. UK viewers can watch the match on BT Sport Europe.
