If the rest of the college football season is like this, football fans are in for a real treat. Tyrone Swoopes did not get the start for Texas, but he came up with the biggest play of the game. In overtime, Swoopes came into the game to run his “18 wheeler” package. Swoopes got the ball in shotgun, rushed up the middle and dove into the endzone for the game-winning touchdown.

Shane Buechele got the start for Texas and did not disappoint. Buechele was 16-of-26 for 280 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown.

Charlie Strong said leading up to the Notre Dame game that both quarterbacks would play. Coaches often say that in hopes of throwing off the other team. He was true to his word, but the quarterbacks were utilized in distinctly different ways. Swoopes had one pass attempt the whole gamee. However, he scored three touchdowns on 13 rushes.
