The most exciting offensive team in Europe will take on the best defense in the Champions League semifinal on Wednesday.
Monaco are in the semifinals for the first time since 2004, and they arrived in historic fashion. They became the first team ever to score at least three goals in all four knockout stage matches, and will look to keep scoring against Juventus.
There’s just one problem: nobody scores on Juventus.
The Italian leaders are undefeated in Champions League this season, and have only conceded two goals in the entire competition. Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has organized his veteran team perfectly, as they have not conceded a goal in 513 minutes of Champions League play.
Juventus may have stifled their previous opponents, but they’ll face a new challenge against the attacking duo in Monaco. Veteran Falcao and youngster Mbappe comprise Monaco’s attacking threat, and they’re the reason Monaco are on pace to win Ligue 1. Mbappe has 18 goals in his last 18 competitive matches, and is drawing attention from the biggest clubs in the world.
When Juventus get to this stage of the competition, they typically get the job done. In their last six Champions League semifinal appearances, they’ve reached the final five times.
Kickoff is at 2:45 p.m. Eastern and will air on Fox Sports 1. Keep this page refreshed after kickoff for the latest updates.
