Around this time every year, the Georgia Bulldogs experience a high amount of roster turnover due to either the transfer portal or the NFL Draft. As head coach, Kirby Smart has built this Georgia Football program to last, and the Bulldogs have become a juggernaut for producing high-profile NFL players.

The latest slew of Bulldogs that have entered their name in the NFL Draft includes CJ Allen, Zachariah Branch, Christen Miller, Noah Thomas, and more. CJ Allen and Zachariah Branch are the two biggest names and the two likeliest Georgia players to have an immediate impact at the next level. A recent mock draft has the former Bulldogs’ star linebacker landing with the Dallas Cowboys, one of the NFL’s worst defenses in 2025.

CJ Allen Mocked to the Dallas Cowboys

In Pro Football Focus’s (PFF) first NFL mock draft (they do several renditions from now until mid-April), CJ Allen is predicted to land with the Dallas Cowboys at the 20th overall pick:

“After selecting edge defender Keldric Faulk at No. 12, the Cowboys continue to boost their run defense with Allen here. His 88.6 PFF run-defense grade is ninth among Power Four linebackers this year. ”

The Cowboys have two first-round picks this upcoming Spring, and PFF believes they will draft edge rusher  Keldric Faulk before CJ Allen. Either way, Dallas had one of the worst defenses in the NFL in 2025 and could really use Allen’s services, as he’s a great middle linebacker.

He would potentially join four-time Pro Bowler Dak Prescott and a plethora of offensive talent.

Dak Prescott is coming off one of his best seasons in the NFL, completing 67.3 percent of his passes and racking up 4,552 yards, 30 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions.

Other Georgia Football News

In other Georgia Football news, Georgia received some positive updates on the status of current players. Running backs Chauney Bowens and Nate Frazier have both re-signed with the university. Kicker Peyton Woodring is also returning, but Georgia will be losing the services of Monroe Freeling, who also entered his name into the NFL Draft.

Aside from DeMarvion Overshown, Dallas has a really poor linebacker group. Kenneth Murray Jr., Shemar James, and trade acquisition Logan Wilson did not perform well over the last several weeks of the season, and it’s certainly going to lead to a lot of mocks featuring nothing but defensive players.

As for what this means for the Bulldogs, losing CJ Allen certainly hurts, but Georgia has done a great job of replenishing talent with either young recruits or players already in the fold of their roster. For Georgia, it’s likely going to be Raylen Wilson filling in the shoes for Allen, which is a good sign for Georgia.
