The Hundred Auction took place on March 12th. Which players were bought?

The 2026 T20 Cricket World Cup was awarded to India, but there is much more cricket to enjoy than just T20.

Test and ODI matches are everywhere, and the Indian Premier League is going to be underway in short order at the end of March 2026. But have you heard of The Hundred?

March 12th, 2026, is Day 2 of The Hundred Auction for the men’s squad. But what is The Hundred? And which teams were auctioned to whom? We have all the details for you here.

What is the Difference between T20 Cricket and The Hundred Cricket?

T20 cricket and The Hundred are fairly similar cricket formats.

At the most basic level, T20 cricket is 20 overs per side. Each team bats (or bowls) until the end of 20 overs or 10 wickets are reached. However, when the second team bats, they finish their innings when the 20 overs is reached, or 10 wickets, or they have surpassed the score set by the first team. Each over consists of six balls, totaling 120 balls per side.

The Hundred takes this concept and shortens it even further.

In The Hundred, each team gets 100 balls for their innings. Each bowler can bowl five or 10 consecutive balls, according to The Hundred’s website. Bowlers can only bowl a maximum of 20 balls per match.

This format also has a powerplay. The powerplay in The Hundred lasts for 25 balls, which would be similar to five overs.

The point of The Hundred cricket is to help someone with no prior cricket knowledge by following along with the countdown of the balls.
