The Los Angeles Angels are coming off a 4-1 victory over the Miami Marlins on Thursday night, snapping a stretch in which they had lost seven of their previous eight games.
Ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Marlins, the Angels announced some exciting news involving veteran star outfielder Mike Trout, who has spent his entire 16-year career with the organization.
Angels Announce Trout News
The Angels announced that Trout has been named the franchise’s 2026 Heart & Hustle Award winner, marking the fifth time in his career that he has earned the honor.
The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association presents the award annually to one player from each team who demonstrates a passion for the game and “best embodies the values, spirit, and tradition of baseball.”
“Give it up for the GOAT,” the Angels posted on social media. “Congratulations to Mike Trout on being named the 2026 Angels Heart & Hustle Award winner!”
Fans React on Social Media
Angels fans celebrated Trout’s latest achievement on social media.
“Five Hearts and Hustles later, the GOAT finally got a sweater. Congrats, Trout!” one fan wrote.
“Congrats to the MVP. Mike Trout is still the MVP on and off the field!” another added.
“The GOAT,” another fan commented.
“He’s literally the last man standing. Who else was going to win?” one fan wrote.
“On his birthday btw,” another fan added.
Trout’s MLB Career
Trout has accomplished just about everything there is to achieve during his MLB career, with postseason success serving as the lone exception. Since the Angels drafted him, he has appeared in just three playoff games.
The future Hall of Famer is a three-time AL MVP, 12-time All-Star, nine-time Silver Slugger, and two-time All-Star Game MVP. He has also recorded 1,837 hits, 422 home runs, 1,058 RBIs, 222 stolen bases, and owns a career .291 batting average.
